Mashed Up!

I've never thought that being a ghost employee for the past few days would be this productive. I was technically bored when I decided to update my music stash. I was downloading and compiling tracks, sampling and 'proof-listening' when I accidentally played two tracks at the same time--one from itunes and another with the mixing program that I normally use. With a couple of tweaks, pauses and timing, I came up with an instant mash-up. I worked on it for a couple of hours and by the time I remastered the track, I have quite afew more ideas--not for just the same track but with the tracks that I was downloading at the time.

To cut the story short, I came up with a total of 5 mash-ups, 3 of them I'll be posting here and the other 2 will follow since I have to exert alittle more effort for it to work. Click on their respective track covers to download it.

DJ DRAKE PINEDA feat. HOTT 22 & BONNIE BAILEY vs. WHELAN & DI SCALA No Teardrop Promises

I've been quite a fan of Bonnie Bailey way back before Ever After and her collaboration with Hott 22 for No Promises is one of her masterpieces in my opinion. I just admire her song writing skills--very unique. Teardrops, on the otherhand, is a re-hashed track from the 90's. Im not sure who did the original, but Whelan & Di Scala did an awesome job (with Nikki Belle on vocals) in resurrecting the track. They've maintained that same old feel of the song and added/updated some of the beats. Overall, put these two tracks together and you'd end up reminscing the good old Hed Kandi days even though these tracks was released through Fierce Angel--Mark Doyle's new recording label.

DJ DRAKE PINEDA feat. GET-FAR & SAGI REI vs. DEPECHE MODE
Just Can't Get Enough of my Shining Star

This mash-up was popularized by one of my favorite DJ's not only because he had this awesome idea of putting the two tracks together, he does this mash-up live. I'm talking about DJ extraordinaire BAM DEL VALLE. If you havent heard him spin, well, let's just say youve missed half of that NYC party experience--and I mean he's that good.

DJ DRAKE PINEDA feat. KIM SOZZI vs. ROBBIE RIVERA
Feel Your Love Escape

I was never a fan Kim Sozzi until I listened to her track, Feel Your Love. Usually, her tracks were abit Eurodance which I dont appreciate that much, but this track is nothing compared to her other tracks. The same goes with Robbie Rivera. I wasnt such a fan or maybe I wasnt aware of the awesome tracks he did before but when I got hold of his Juicy America compilation, I became an instant fan. My idea of this mash-up is based on the synths on both tracks--as simple as that.

DJ DRAKE PINEDA feat GET-FAR vs. DAVID GUETTA
Love is Gone to a Shining Star

Too bad, I lost this track along with my ipod! I wasnt able to save a copy of it on this pc even. Well, lets just hope that my set cds would cooperate in ripping the track. Stay tuned on this one as well! LOL.
